Times Square in New York is probably one of the most happening places on Earth with a hustlebustle of activity emanating from a true melting pot of various cultures - locals, settlers, tourists, shoppers and a whole bunch of people that simply mesmerise you at first glance.

If there's something to be done that needs grabbing attention, it's best to do it in Times Square. And if you're Volkswagen trying to break ground and gather up a significant market share in the US autospace , Times Square becomes an even more obvious choice for a venue. The event in question was the global showing of the 2011 Jetta and it was done in style!

With Katie Perry turning on the heat with a sizzling performance of her hit singles, media from around the world as well as regular people just passing by Times Square were in full attention towards the artificial beach-themed pavilion created by Volkswagen of America. The new Jetta was unveiled by Volkswagen of America, Inc. CEO Stefan Jacoby along with Klaus Bischoff - German Head of Design for the Volkswagen Brand.

Speaking at the launch, Stefan said, "Today marks the beginning of a new era for Volkswagen and for Jetta. The all-new 2011 Jetta is a class-up driving experience with the kind of styling, design and power under the hood normally found in more expensive luxury cars. At an extremely attractive price, this car is sophisticated, fun to drive and practical."
